FAQ
How much does a custom rod cost?
Pricing depends on the blank, components, cork work, and how custom you want to go. A basic custom build starts at a fair price, and upgrades are always optional. I’ll walk you through choices so there are no surprises.
What makes a custom rod better than a factory rod?
A custom rod is built for you, not the average angler. Better balance, better components, correct guide spacing, and a grip that fits your hand and how you fish.
Can you build a rod for the way I fish?
Yes. Species, technique, water type, kayak or boat, all of that matters. The rod is designed around how you actually fish, not a catalog description.
How long does it take to build a rod?
Most builds take a few weeks once components are in hand. Timing depends on availability and shop workload, and I’ll give you a realistic timeframe up front.
Can you repair a rod I already own?
Absolutely. Guide and tip replacement, rewraps, and general repairs are common. If it’s worth fixing, I’ll tell you. If it’s not, I’ll be honest about that too.
